Alain Octavo and Syd Gris return to Ruby Skye for an all night set to start the 1st Saturday of 2008 off right. Their marathon night back in August generated reviews by dance music lovers experiencing one of the greatest vibes created at Ruby Skye. ALAIN OCTAVO BIOGRAPHY:
Alain Octavo is renowned for his dynamic style of electronic music, showcasing various sounds of house, techno and trance. Though he is often acknowledged for his talent to organize a great production, it is his array of music spanning two decades that encourages him to push the possibilities of dance music. An integral part of San Francisco's dance culture, Alain began his profession in 1995 producing underground events at legendary venues around the San Francisco Bay Area. By the following year, his innovative ideas created a growing kinship with industry professionals throughout California co-producing events the west coast has never experienced and shattering every attendance record to date.
SYD GRIS BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Syd Gris. A renaissance man of the SF dance music community, Syd was recently voted the number 6 most popular dj in San Francisco. He is the founder and leader of the Opulent Temple, one of the premiere sound stages at the Burning Man festival, as well as one of the organizers of the San Francisco LoveFest, (formerly Loveparade San Francisco). He heads up his own production company in San Francisco under the name Opel Productions, with a mission to throw ‘conscious parties with purpose’. His musical tastes and dj talents are as diverse as his interests, being able to move in a number of worlds like few in the SF dance music scene. From gutter house to progressive trance to tech funk breaks, he has been tapped to open or close at major gigs with the likes of Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Meat Katie, Stanton Warriors, Armin Van Burren, Ferry Corsten, Hybrid, Sandra Collins, Blank & Jones and many other global super stars. His style is fresh, dynamic and always walking a line between the gritty and the pretty.
